The Genesis

GET was registered as a non-profit Trust in 2016. The founder, Dr Jessica Hamadziripi, was moved by the plight of the vulnerable youth who had no source of income and spending time on the streets of Harare without gaining income. GET was born out of her commitment to empower the youth and, the support she received from her husband.

Training Projects

GET started offering training in February 2017. The Trust identified that there are a number of institutions and projects that provide vocational skills training in Zimbabwe. However, research showed that the youth are gaining vocational skills but lack the entrepreneurial skills, training, coaching and mentoring that can enable them to be effective entrepreneurs. This project is fashioned to provide a holistic training for today’s entrepreneurs.

GET aims to eradicate absolute poverty and eliminate vulnerability by providing Entrepreneurial Development training programmes that enhance sustainable income.

INCLUSIVITY

At the beginning of GET, Dr Hamadziripi’s focus was to train youth from underprivileged communities. Soon after starting GET she found out, through her many interactions, that the need for empowerment was inclusive of a lot of youth in all areas of Zimbabwe. GET now focuses on equipping youth from all backgrounds with entrepreneurial skills.
